Well, I decided to brave it solo into Inverness—just me, Calamity Jane, and a very optimistic GPS. I took the scenic rollercoaster through Braemar, onto the “highest village in the Highlands” (which frankly felt more like the edge of the sky), a bonnie little place called Tomintoul There were coos, cows, and so many majestic mountains I thought I’d accidentally ridden into a Scottish screensaver. It was windy enough up there to turn my helmet into a wind sock, but miraculously, the sun showed up and gave me just enough Vitamin D to keep the smile glued to my face. Seven hours in the saddle, some of which felt like I was in a Highland episode of Survivor: Cruiser Edition. Eventually, I rolled triumphantly into Inverness, had a lightning-speed look around, then locked myself in a room with snacks and Wi-Fi to tackle the next adventure: editing and uploading today’s episode.
