Using WW2 Machines to build an offroad bumper

Simple problems sometimes call for the most interesting projects. In this video, I use modern CNC tools as well as an ancient war machines. To design the new recovery points/ shackle hangers I drew them up in Fusion 360 then uploaded them to our Burny plasma table. The plasma cutter was able t o quickly blow through 1 inch steel plate and then it was off to the old school machines. Built in 1942 this Carlton radial drill press is an absolute beast! drilling out the 1 inch hole for the D rings/ soft shackles. I managed to snap a tapered drill bit. Do you think these recovery points will be strong enough to pull my 2017 Ford F150 out of a mud hole?? Have you ever used a tool of this age? What would you do differently in this process? Do you have any tips or tricks for this kind of fabrication and machining?
