Psalm 127:1 CEB 1  Unless it is the Lord who builds the house,     the builders’ work is pointless. Unless it is the Lord who protects the city,     the guard on duty is pointless. Psalm 127:1 Message 1-2  If God doesn’t build the house,     the builders only build shacks. If God doesn’t guard the city,     the night watchman might as well nap. Revelation 3:7 CEB 7  “Write this to the angel of the church in Philadelphia: These are the words of the one who is holy and true, who has the key of David. Whatever he opens, no one will shut; and whatever he shuts, no one opens. John 15:5 CEB 5  I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, then you will produce much fruit. Without me, you can’t do anything. Psalm 32:8-9 CEB 8  I will instruct you and teach you about the direction you should go. I’ll advise you and keep my eye on you. 9  Don’t be like some senseless horse or mule, whose movement must be controlled with a bit and a bridle. Don’t be anything like that! Psalm 127:2 CEB 2  It is pointless that you get up early and stay up late,     eating the bread of hard labor     because God gives sleep to those he loves. Matthew 6:25 CEB 25  “Therefore, I say to you, don’t worry about your life, what you’ll eat or what you’ll drink, or about your body, what you’ll wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothes? Psalm 127:3-4 CEB 3  No doubt about it: children are a gift from the Lord;     the fruit of the womb is a divine reward. 4  The children born when one is young     are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Proverbs 27:17 CEB 17  As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens a friend. 2 Samuel 22:32-33 Message Is there any god like God? Are we not at bedrock? Is not this the God who armed me well, then aimed me in the right direction? Psalm 64:3 NIV 3  They sharpen their tongues like swords and aim cruel words like deadly arrows. 1 Timothy 1:5 NRSVUE 5  But the aim of such instruction is love that comes from a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith. Psalm 127:5 CEB 5  The person who fills a quiver full with them is truly happy!     They won’t be ashamed when arguing with their enemies in the gate. Psalm 127:5 Message Oh, how blessed are you parents,     with your quivers full of children! Your enemies don’t stand a chance against you;     you’ll sweep them right off your doorstep.
