Name: Pisith Skunboonrasri Classical & Jazz Grade: 4 Instrument: Piano Piece 1 (out of 22): Tower Hill The performance had direction and musical shape aided by close observance of detail. The hands worked well together and were on the whole balanced. Accuracy was excellent. Marks: 7/6/8=21 Piece 2 (out of 22): Forty Winks The playing had style and continuity. At times the left hand chords were a little heavy against the right hand melody but the touch was on the whole secure and chords were cleanly executed. Marks: 7/6/8=21 Piece 3 (out of 22): Remembrance “Con dolcezza” was beautifully captured. Rubato was musically presented and the hands and pedal were co-ordinated and balanced. The pedal was deftly managed, adding sonority whilst retaining clarity of lines. There was total assurance and poise in this persuasive presentation. Marks: 7/7/8=22 Technical Work (out of 14): 1, 1b, 2b Scales and arpeggios were prompt, accurate and even. Both dynamics and articulation were clearly defined. Exercise 1b: attention was paid to detail and voicing was appropriate. Exercise 2b: there was fluency and co-ordination was reliable. Mark: 14 Performance Delivery and Focus (out of 10) Performances were delivered with assurance and transitions between items were well paced., Focus was maintained throughout the presentation. Mark: 10 Musical Awareness (out of 10) There was a convincing level of commitment in the performances and there was excellent ability to maintain and move between styles in this presentation that had accuracy and natural poise.
