Why you should let Longfield Hospice recycle your tree, In partnership with @justhelping ! REGISTER HERE - https://just-helping.org.uk/register-... Register to get your tree recycled in Gloucestershire this Christmas and help the environment, whilst raising vital funds for Longfield Community Hospice Register by midnight 6th January and your tree will be collected by an army of Longfield volunteers between 10th – 13th January, taken to one of the collection sites and chipped to be re-used. All Longfield ask for in return is a suggested donation. Longfield Hospice is a charity supports those with life limiting illnesses in the local community. Book to walk alongside Longfield supporters and the local community today to help support the hospice’s free services which include expert palliative care, wellbeing therapies, bereavement support, and comfort for patients and families across Gloucestershire. As Stroud District Council’s Chloe Turner says - “Partnering with Longfield on Christmas tree collection and recycling allows Stroud District Council to help clear the decks for residents after the Christmas period in a sustainable way. Over four thousand real trees were turned into chippings last year, a versatile material that we can then use in grounds maintenance work in our local public green spaces. We are so pleased to support Longfield in raising funds at the same time, for its vital hospice-at-home, wellbeing and bereavement work in our communities.” Gloucester City Council is also supporting this initiative. In 2025, with the help of volunteers, Longfield recycled 4,100 Christmas trees, preventing approximately 66,384kg of co2 from being released into the atmosphere. This is the equivalent of 1.3 million cups of tea with milk being made. This year’s tree collections will take place from 10 to 13 January 2026. Households can also book their tree collection via the JustHelping website now until midnight on January 6th. www.just-helping.org.uk/register-tree All money raised helps to fund the hospice’s vital work supporting people affected by a life-limiting illness, end of life, or grief. ENDS *After costs, over 80% of monies raised will go to Longfield Community Hospice with around 13% going to JustHelping charity and over 5% to other local charities.
