#BEING

POCITYF is an EU-funded smart city project designed to help Europe's historical cities become greener, smarter and more livable while respecting their cultural heritage and the needs and well-being of their citizens. Évora and Alkmaar, in the Netherlands, are lighthouse cities in this ambitious project, which follows Europe's drive to become the first carbon-neutral continent by 2050. These cities will serve as testbeds for innovative solutions in the areas of energy efficiency and energy transition, which will then be replicated in six other cities. POCYTIF focuses on communities and seeks to create a positive impact on the lives of citizens. In Évora, it is part of a larger effort to create a more sustainable city, with a series of projects and initiatives being developed by the municipality in the areas of urban regeneration, environment, accessibility and urban mobility, among others. This movement will have a significant impact on the life and the dynamics of the city, and is already underway, in line with the collective construction of Évora_27, European Capital of Culture.
