Now, this was something special and my very first tiger experience from the boat… We started off the day requesting to fish the shallow banks with lures, the tigers were shy and nipping the lures but not sticking so we went towards deeper waters. Philip went on to give us the full experience taking us to areas far and wide to experience some of nature’s best and some crazy stuff like spiders, to hippos, and crocs meters away from us. Besides those, we viewed elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and buck whilst fishing. Ok back to fishing, Lionel had a hit from a massive tiger, Philip pitched a live bait and the hook didn’t set, casted again in the same spot and managed to hook and land the biggest tiger for the session. We caught throughout the day at all the spots and lost a lot too, the video had to be dubbed countless times with lots of beeps as this fishing can bring out the best and crazy side of me, also with Lionel giving me blunt hooks to use 😉 lol These fish are nippy and can be quite tricky if they feeding shyly, getting them to stick and not throw the hook can be a challenge on itself. Was a great adventure on the water with many laughs and swear words making memories to last a lifetime We had to call it in by lunchtime and rush off to work as we had to see several customers on route back to Durban. We managed to get +-25 between the 3 of us on lures and live bait for the morning session (8am to 12) and lost just and much lol. If you are looking for the full Jozini adventure, give Friendly Philip from @Tiger Hunters Tours and Safaris a call, his willingness and knowledge of the dam is a must for every visitor.
