With the arrival of warm weather, you want to make your garden especially cozy. Flowers, greenery, and charming details all create an atmosphere of warmth and comfort. One way to add originality is to make an unusual planter by hand. For example, in the shape of little houses, using old boards. Such decor will not only beautify the area but also give items a second life. For this project, you will need old boards, slats, small planks for the roof, wood stain, sandpaper, and a stencil for the design. First, you need to cut the boards. Three sides of the future planter should be of equal height, while the back wall should be special, cut in the shape of houses. You can create silhouettes with different roofs – pointed, slanted, or flat – to make the planter look more interesting. Once all the pieces are ready, they are joined together. For strength, a slat is nailed to the back – it holds the entire structure together and makes it more stable. After that, small planks are assembled to create the roof for each house. The next step is to apply the wood stain. It will not only give the wood a beautiful shade but also protect it from moisture and sunlight. After drying, the edges are lightly sanded. This will create an antique effect – slight scuffs give the items a vintage look, which looks especially beautiful in the garden. Now, the final touch remains – decoration. You can apply a design to the front panel using a stencil. These can be floral patterns, bird silhouettes, inscriptions, or any other elements. To do this, simply place the stencil and carefully apply paint with a sponge or brush. Such a planter will become a stylish decoration for the garden. It can be placed on the porch, hung on a fence, or set on a flower bed. And if you make several of these houses in different heights and arrange them together, you will create a cozy little street for flowers. The main thing is to use your imagination and not be afraid to experiment. Old boards, a little effort – and your garden will burst with new colors! It will be even cozier and more beautiful, and the handmade planter will become a true pride. Wishing you all the best!
