Located to the immediate west of the Crowdy Reservoir... between the old WW2 Davidstow Airfield and the much more overt prehistoric wonders of Rough Tor, this round barrow might easily be bypassed by antiquarians on a mission elsewhere, so to speak. This, however, would be an error, since the monument is pretty substantial... apparently getting on for 9ft in height, with a diameter of c62ft. So, combine a visit here with a stop off at the nearby (and incidentally very rare) Advent 'Triple Barrow' (SX136 835) - not to mention Rough Tor/Brown Willy - and, if you're anything like The Citizen Cairn, you won't regret it. Incidentally, should any would-be visitors also be aficionados of a certain Cornish TV show starring a not very sociable GP, the environs roundabouts may well ring a few bells...
