In this episode, I’m back working on the boat — this time tackling the front windshield after the last one didn’t exactly survive. Today’s job is cutting and fitting a new plexiglass windshield, starting with cardboard templates, lots of measuring, and yes… plenty of mistakes along the way. This plexiglass actually came from old hockey rink boards, so you’ll see how I size it, cut it, heat it, sand it, test-fit it, and slowly dial it in. There’s second guessing, re-cutting, and a few classic “I’m an idiot” moments — but that’s part of rebuilding an old boat by hand. The goal is a clean, clear windshield that fits right, looks good, and will eventually get polished and ceramic coated. It’s not perfect, but it’s real progress. If you enjoy real-world DIY, boat restoration, learning the hard way, and honest builds without the highlight-reel fluff — you’re in the right place. 00:00 Intro & glass disaster recap 00:12 Working on the front windshield 00:41 Cardboard templating explained 01:23 Using recycled hockey rink plexiglass 02:19 First test fit… not big enough 02:56 Cracks, measurements, and plan B 03:26 Deciding to wing it 04:06 How the windshield mounts 04:23 Cutting mistakes (yep…) 05:00 Overthinking it 05:12 Just cutting and adjusting 05:21 Spotting the major gap 05:55 Marking and reworking the piece 06:08 “It’s going to slip” moment 06:49 Heat forming the plexiglass 08:56 Test fitting on the boat 09:46 Talking tint and final look 10:24 Wrap up #BoatRebuild #BoatRestoration #DIYBoat #Plexiglass #TottyBoats
