Mount LeConte Great Smoky Mountains National Park - Father's Day Hike - Myrtle Point - Part 2

Part 2 of our Father’s Day hike to the top of Mount LeConte. After a long climb up from the Alum Cave Trailhead, my son Maikel and I finally reached the upper elevations of the Great Smoky Mountains. In this half of our journey, we explore the historic LeConte Lodge, visit the cliffs, and make it all the way to the summit at 6,593 feet before finishing the day at Myrtle Point. The wind was ripping at the top, the fog was thick, and the temps dropped fast—but it was all part of what made this hike so unforgettable. Getting to share this experience with my son, on Father’s Day, in one of the most beautiful places in the country, is something I’ll always be grateful for.
