The Pilgrim's Way is the oldest English Pilgrimage from Winchester to Canterbury starting at St Swithun's Shrine in Winchester Cathedral and heading for Thomas Becket's Shrine in Canterbury Cathedral. Following the ancient tracks of the Pilgrim's Way the same route pilgrims have walked on for over a 1000 years - this long distance footpath stretches 187 miles. So lets GetOutdoors for Day 7. Day 7 Wrotham Heath to Rochester plus Chatham Historical Navy Dockyard. From Wrotham Heath we pass Forde Place before reaching the pilgrims path, then we are passing Trottiscliffe and then into Whitehorse Woods, continuing on the Pilgrim's Route we head to Upper Paling and the to Cuxton where we meet the River Medway, onwards to the suburbs of Rochester and to Temple Manor and then crossing the bridge to Rochester. As we head into this town/city we wander to the castle and Rochester Cathedral. Afterwards we walk through the streets of Rochester passing East Gate Hose, Restoration House and the Guildhall. Then to the Historical old navy yard of Chatham, then finishing the day by walking to house of rest tonight the Youth Hostel at Capstone. Route download: https://explore.osmaps.com/en/route/1...
