Born as Clive Pinnock in rural Jamaica, Jay Douglas began performing professionally at 17 and has never stopped. His career has spanned more than 60 years, and his story forms the basis of a TVO original documentary, Play It Loud. He joins us now, along with director Graeme Mathieson, to discuss the little-known early influence of Caribbean music, how its shaped the sound of Toronto, and forged the path for artists through the years.
