Dudley is Bluegrass Hall of Famer who played with the Johnson Mountain Boys and The Seldom Scene. Dudley also worked for Smithsonian Folkways Recordings helping preserve musical heritages from around the world. Here he shares his journey from Montgomery County to the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, his transition between legendary bands, and the moment he first stepped on stage with The Seldom Scene! Sally Love Connell is an superb singer and Smithsonian creative force having spent 40 years working to design exhibits for the Museum of Natural History. Sally traveled the world both personally and professionally allowing her contribute to numerous Smithsonian exhibits over the years, covering everything from butterflies to infectious diseases! John Duffey was a pioneering bluegrass mandolin player and singer. He possessed an emotionally charged tenor voice, that helped shape the sound of modern bluegrass. A founding member of the legendary Country Gentlemen and later The Seldom Scene, Duffey blended traditional Appalachian roots with progressive songwriting, expanding the genre’s reach and audience. Known for his passion, humor, and deep love of the music, he left a lasting legacy as both an innovator and a torchbearer of American bluegrass tradition.
