Tawab Djankpata seals the win! 1-3 23:15 Full time --------- NWCFL First Division North Route One Rovers 1 - Droylsden FC 3 ATT: 82 For the second time this season, the Bloods made the trip to West Yorkshire, to the Marley Stadium, this time for a matchup with Route One Rovers. After a frustrating 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture back in September, Droylsden went into this game looking for a different outcome, and they did not disappoint the loyal travelling Bloods who made the journey to Keighley. Droylsden took the lead after 14 minutes, after a Caelan Kilheeney free kick was brilliantly saved by the opposition 'Keeper, only for Fuad Kasali to be in the right place at the right time to smash in the rebound. Bar a brief period of pressure on Jordan Latham's goal, it was no less than the away team deserved, as the clubs went into half time with Droylsden a goal to the good. The half time break initially seemed to do wonders for the home team, as they equalised 3 minutes into the second half, thanks to a fine finish from Route One's number 9, Danyal Yasin, firing into the bottom corner of Jordan Latham's goal. The Bloods continued to pile on the pressure, and were rewarded for their efforts in the 56th minute, following some fantastic play from Droylsden right back Tawab Djankpata. He skilfully evaded a number of challenges, and fed a perfect through ball to Fuad Kasali in open space to slot it pass the Route One 'Keeper to restore Droylsden's advantage. Despite outclassing the home team, Droylsden couldn't add to their 2-1 lead, and carried the precarious scoreline going deep into injury time..... Enter Tawab Djankpata to seal the win, with a thoroughly deserved goal. After Route One failed to clear a Droylsden throw in, the ball fell to Nellson Van on the edge of the home team's box, who played a superb through ball to Djankpata, who then cut inside and drilled the ball, left-footed into the back of the net with virtually the last kick of the game. The win saw the Bloods remain in 3rd, but close the gap on 2nd place Atherton following their loss to Euxton Villa, whilst Route One remain in the relegation places, in 16th place. Droylsden's next game, their final of Five consecutive away games, sees a trip to Bacup Borough on Saturday 22nd Feb. Finally, another thank you to Brin and Cam for their addition 'BrinCam' footage (Brin-Cam, Brin and Cam.... you guys get it!)
