Introduction to the Digital Traffic Network (DTN)

The Digital Traffic Network (DTN) is a modified hybrid mesh network operating the high frequency radio spectrum. DTN supports the transfer of radiogram and radiogram-ICS213 messages throughout the United States and Canada and to various locations overseas. Interoperability with voice, CW (radiotelegraph) and other digital modes is accomplished via a "Digital Traffic Station (DTS)" function. The DTN operates 24/7/365 in routine configuration. It can also be deployed as an important emergency communications asset during disaster operations. This RRI training program (TR-011) explains the basic features of the network and provides the guidance necessary to get connected to the system.
