In this video we take a ride on board New Jersey Transit Gladstone Branch train #0422 en route to Hoboken Terminal from Gladstone. The Gladstone Branch is a commuter rail route operated by New Jersey Transit and runs primarily between Hoboken Terminal and Gladstone. During the AM rush, two inbound trains are sent to New York Penn Station and during the PM rush, two outbound trains depart out of New York Penn Station. The Gladstone Branch train runs via the Morris & Essex Lines to Summit, then diverges from the Morristown Line West of Summit, where the branch starts and continues to it's journey to Gladstone. The Gladstone Branch mainly runs on a single track to the end of the line. The single track becomes a double track near Murray Hill and Far Hills, where westbound and eastbound trains have to hold for the other train's right of way. On weekends, Gladstone Branch trains only run as far east as Summit. To continue your journey to New York Penn Station, you must transfer at Summit. To continue your journey to Hoboken, you must transfer at Summit, and again at Newark Broad Street.
