Translating the main theme song (片頭曲) "Mr Jan of Foshan" (袛有情永在) from the Kung Fu Master From Fat Shan 1981 (佛山贊先生) into English. Original Cantonese Song by Tang Wai Hung (邓伟雄). The "Kung Fu Master From Fat Shan" was released in 1981 by TVB. I can only assume it is a TVB creation as I found little out little about the series. The title of the series suggests that the series is about the famous martial artist Leung Jan (梁贊) who is also known as the "King of Wing Chun". But it is not. In this series, Leung Jan is an elderly fellow played by Kwan Hoi San (關海山) who sits in the backdrop of the series. Instead the real hero and focus of the show is based on his disciple, Chan Wah Sun (陳華順) played by Ray Lui (呂良偉). I enjoy every series starring Ray Lui because he is a very versatile actor. I liked his transition from a very naive person at the start to a combat hardened martial arts expert by the end of the series. The other star of the show was Felix Wong (黃日華) who plays a tragic rebel leader who has ambitions to overthrow the Qing Dynasty. I like the friendship developed between Ray and Felix's character during the series. Felix Wong always puts in a good and powerful performance and this was no different. Susanna Au Yeung (歐陽佩珊) plays the love interest for both Felix's and Ray's character. Though Ray's character would concede the chase upon learning that his good friend, Felix, also likes her. Nothing against Susanna Au Yeung, but I thought her character was a bit one dimensional and didn't change much during the series. The star female of the show was Sharon Yeung (楊盼盼) whom displayed good wit and good martial arts as her fight scenes were well choreographed. It was also Sharon in those fight scenes and not a stunt man. I found her character a lot more interesting. Finally, a young Money Chan (陈敏儿) appeared in a minor role in the series. I actually didn't spot this as a kid. I always find it nostalgic seeing some of the top actors and actresses in their early days when they were just starting out. The main theme song "Mr Jan of Foshan" was sung by Tang Wai Hung. Funnily enough, until I translated this song, I had always thought Michael Kwan had sung it. That's because they have similar sounding voices. This also happens to be the final song from a wuxia series featuring Felix Wong that I have translated. Anyway, enjoy... I am willing to take requests to translate other TVB or wuxia songs in the comments section. Also please subscribe and share with your friends and help grow this channel. The more subscribers, the more songs I'll translate to English! Please Note: It's hard work translating and making videos. If you use my video or translation, please provide a link to my video.
