Episode 14: The Pacific Northwest. Finally in Oregon - everything I dreamed, like in a fairy tale.

#cyclingacrossamerica #biketouring #transamerica This final episode represents the end of the adventure and it couldn't have ended in a more spectacular way. This is the privilege of leaving the Pacific coast in the end: everything seems like an escalation of wonder. The episode begins with a very notable heat wave and the semi-desert landscape near Baker City puts me to the test, both for the lack of water and for the micropunctures. The heat, the wind and the darkness seemed insurmountable obstacles and I almost gave signs of giving up, the same giving up that my power banks gave, ceasing to work (because of the heat!). While still in Western Oregon, I receive the providential visit of my girlfriend who from now on will follow me by car. This is not only welcome and expected news for my morale, but also for my tired and tested body from over 70 days on the bike. I will finish the Transamerica with a lighter bike! Oregon is anything but obvious: from deserts to the thickest and most humid forests imaginable, from lava capes to snow-capped mountains in summer. And then, the long-awaited arrival in Eugene, which made me happy and melancholic, almost devastated for having put an end to this adventure.
