The 2025 Michigan Construction Career Days welcomed a record-breaking crowd of more than 4,200 registered seventh through twelfth graders from across the state to the 600-acre Operating Engineers 324 Construction Career Center in Howell, Michigan — for two incredible days of hands-on learning and exploration! As Michigan’s largest hands-on construction career exploration event, this year’s gathering gave students the chance to meet with skilled professionals, apprentices, college representatives, and contractors, and to experience the trades for themselves — operating heavy equipment, welding, setting brick, finishing concrete, wiring outlets, and more. For the first time, part of the event was hosted inside the brand-new 90,000-square-foot indoor arena at the Operating Engineers 324 Construction Career Center, allowing even more opportunities for interactive demonstrations and displays, rain or shine.
