Windrush Day Celebrations 2024 - Vox Pox - What the Audience Said "it's stimulating, educational and it leaves a legacy to pass on to the younger generation" "wonderfully put together. Very diverse in what was actually happening today with both the food culture, the music culture, exercise, the history all of what flip Fraser did with the Black heroes in the Hall of Fame, which I'm really proud to say my dad was a part of that, Satch Dixon playing Louis Armstrong and the original um plays that came out in London back in the '80s" "I enjoyed it is because it helped us to touch base with our culture and actually make us feel that we belong even though we get negativity every day of Our Lives" "I like that the event is happening it's really important that these events take place to acknowledge the contribution of the Windrush group to the UK to building up the UK" "event gave me a reflection on my parents coming over from Jamaica to the UK and helped me to reflect on my progress and development ..... and truly, truly an honor to been invited to be here today" "everybody has a culture it doesn't matter where they come from in the world we all have a culture and it should be respected" "to actually see a community unifying and celebrating the Windrush Era....... great to actually be part of that and hoping to get a bit more involved, to help the Next Generation coming through you know some second generation Caribbean from Jamaica and I truly believe we need to have this Legacy continued as we go go on in life" Produced by Black Heroes Foundation: www.blackheroesfoundation.org A Black Heroes Foundation production © 2020
