'A Taste of SPI' is a free webinar series designed to give you a preview of the Summer Peacebuilding Institute experience. These short, interactive sessions offer a chance to sample our courses, meet the instructors, and engage with the questions, practices, and approaches to learning that define SPI. Whether you’re deciding which courses are the right fit, or exploring SPI for the first time, A Taste of SPI invites you to step into the learning before committing to the full program. Decolonial Possibilities: Reimagining Peacebuilding through Artistic Practices This course explores how colonial violence, oppression, and unequal power dynamics are reproduced in peacebuilding, conflict transformation, and justice initiatives, and invites participants to imagine creative pathways for decolonizing them. Decolonization is framed as a collective, imaginative process that opens possibilities for transformative peace. Using dialogue and accessible artistic practices, such as movement, music, storytelling, poetry, and visual art (no prior experience required), participants will expand ways of knowing, being, and doing, and explore how creativity can reshape leadership, participation, and peacebuilding practice.
