The images went under the radar. They are taking over the internet. More and more numerous. Theocratic Israeli settlers, installed in the hills, harass their Palestinian neighbors daily. They scatter their livestock. Destroy their olive trees. Attack their isolated homes... It was these enigmatic video clips that made me want to see what was happening in the Palestinian territories. Understand how hundreds of incidents could have gone unnoticed. I discovered that this quiet war is not anecdotal. We traveled along the front line settlements. In Palestinian territory, where a future Palestinian state should be founded. We went from discovery to discovery. Some positive, such as the appearance of this new Palestinian generation which has abandoned the strategy of martyrdom. Images of young terrorists – kalashnikovs, explosive belts and bouquets of plastic flowers for a final farewell – no longer cover the walls of Arab towns in the northern West Bank. Instead, young Palestinian activists have armed themselves with video cameras and document settler incursions every day. But if bloody violence has receded, so has the possibility of peace.
