Part 2 - We apologise for the break in the service, we had internet problems. In the Gospel today the Pharisees do not want to believe the blind man who was healed. Where does the wisdom of the blind man come from? He is accused of being born guilty of sin. There are parallels to the woman at the well of last week’s sermon. The Pharisees were rigid in their law and could not hear what the blind man was saying, while the blind man could hear with the ear of his heart, since he was blind. What is our blindness? Is pride a barrier for us? What do we need to do in the wilderness in our lives? Listen to God through prayer and contemplation. We need to learn to see what God sees in us. “Wake up sleeper and rise from the dead.” This is a call to spiritual awakening. Readings: 1 Samuel 16:1-13; Psalm 23; Ephesians 5:8-14; John 9:1-41
