A typical day at the Malkinia train station in 1981 [HD/AI upscaled].
Malkinia railway station in 1981 on colour footage showing everyday and normal life just going on around the railway station. What was the railway like during the communist era? What were the train connections (visible at 24:31 minutes), what trainsets were running them at the time? This is a real gem for lovers of old railways, train history or train sets. The shots were taken in Małkinia Górna, at the Małkinia railway station by Claude Lanzmann and his crew during the shooting of his film ‘Shoah’. Perhaps someone will recognise themselves, their parents or grandparents. The footage has been ‘tweaked’, the quality of the footage has been significantly improved, the resolution has been increased so that even more detail can be seen, and in full HD. The source material is owned by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.
