Travel Time-Lapse: A1079 North West Bound - Hull to York

The A1079 starts in central York as Lawrence Street and Hull Road, joining the A64 at Grimston Bar roundabout where it gains primary status. It heads past Dunnington, Kexby, and into the East Riding of Yorkshire, passing Wilberfoss, Barmby Moor, and Pocklington. A roundabout was added at Pocklington Industrial Estate in 2011. After Hayton, the road becomes dual carriageway for 1.5 miles before reaching Shiptonthorpe, where it takes on the historic Roman York Road. Although plans for a bypass here existed in 1989, they were never built. The road meets the A614 and bypasses Market Weighton, with a second roundabout added in 2014. It continues through Bishop Burton to the Killingwoldgraves roundabout, joining the Beverley Bypass. This section skirts Beverley’s south side, crosses the A164 and Hull–Bridlington rail line, and features a roundabout built in 2011 near Cottingham. The route ends at Dunswell roundabout, where it loses primary status and enters Hull as Beverley Road, terminating at the A63 on Ferensway.​ Vehicle is a Vauxhall Grandland.
