Twenty Riley RM cars and over forty Riley R.M. Club members enjoyed a long weekend on the Isle of Man in 2008. Richard Oliver made the film with a very laid back and humorous commentary. In this film, Part 1, we see the Group, among other things, settling in, touring the Island going to a motorcycle museum (of course), the town of Ramsey and a visit to the Mylchreests Garage, the Riley Dealership on the island at the time of the RM's were being sold. Don't miss Part 2 which covers the rest of the weekend, or Part 3 which is of great historical interest to Riley people. During the visit to the Mylchreests Garage, Mr Brian Mylchreest gave a fascinating talk on the history of the Mylchreest / Riley Company connection through the 1940's and 1950's. Brian was over 90 years old at the time of the R.M. Club's visit and knew the Riley management of that era personally. He was also the 'Open and Close Roads' driver for the TT races and often used Riley RM's with well known personalities as passengers. Brian also showed us some period photographs of the RM's used at the races on display. Don't miss it! Special thanks to Richard Oliver for making this film available to the Riley R.M. Club Also to Gordon (Nobby) Clarke, the Riley R.M. Club Social Secretary at the time for organising the weekend. For more information about the Riley R.M. Club and the cars visit the Riley R.M.
