A couple of my first flights of my new Macfree F-22. It's packed full of technology, with stabilisation, self-levelling and four different flight modes according to whether you are beginning or experienced. The transmitter is a small toy style one, but it has many features such as multiple rates, expo, telemetry and mixing that are usually found only on the hobby style transmitters. Protocol is Spektrum DSM2. It uses a 1S battery of 200mAh capacity. In the beginner modes it can take off, circle at a fixed height and land automatically, and you assume command only when you want to. In the expert mode you can switch off all the automated features, including the stabilisation, and then it becomes a real handful and very exciting to fly. In the video I am flying in an intermediate mode where I have stabilisation and self-levelling, but can still do rolls, loops etc. This is the brushless motor version, which has a thrust/weight ratio of 1.25. There is a brushed version with a thrust/weight ratio of 1.1. As you can see, I am coexisting with this plane rather than controlling it, but as I learn more about it I hope to improve!
