Gigafactory Texas on 3 October 2022! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built! On the heels of a successful AI Day II event and record production and deliveries for the 3rd Quarter, we see a busy Giga Texas starting off the new quarter with a frenzy of activity and changes this morning, along with a gorgeous sunrise over the factory. Timestamps: Congratulations to FireFly Aerospace & my Air Force Academy classmate: 0:06 to 1:21 Drone flight overview with discussion & illustrations: 1:22 to 3:05 Drone flight footage & infographics: 3:11 to 29:30 In my video introduction, I give my congratulations to FireFly Aerospace for a highly successful launch to orbit and my best friend and Ari Force Academy classmate who was the launch director for this mission. Very proud of her accomplishments and the Firefly team! Additionally, I provide information and illustrations showing the movement of steel components from the south material staging location to the newly cleared southeast staging area, and more construction materials arriving as well. This seems to be related to the large sections of concrete being removed from the south concrete lot where new cars are temporarily stored and where the transport trucks originally picked up these cars to move them off-site to the new railhead near Hutto Texas. I also discuss progress and changes at the north electrical substation, along with additional information about the steel structure that has been erected at the construction site based on inputs by my YouTube viewer Ro Hermes. Here are some additional highlights from today's video: Changes on the south end today with steel components moved from the original south material staging location to the newly cleared southeast staging lot that was recently cleared of WOW Yard trailers. We also see the workshop that was on the south end has been removed as part of the reconfiguration of this area. All these materials appear to be related to the concrete demolition and removal, possibly for a new construction project. Work continues to break up and remove portions of the south concrete lot, particularly on the west side, but we also see saw cuts in the center and east sides in preparation for further concrete demolition work. The overall shape mimics that of the south end of the main factory building, which could indicate the “lengthening” of the structure previously mentioned by Elon and Tesla. The number of receiving docks around the main factory continues to expand, and we see three more docks cut out of the existing walls, this time on the east side near the secondary main entrance. This brings to 131 total docks at the building, but we may see even more being added as Tesla continues to refine their original plans. At the battery cathode plant, we see progress on many fronts, both inside and external to the main structure. Exterior wall installation continues to move at a fast pace, with one large crane on either side of the building positioning wall panels for attachment to the steel columns almost as fast as the concrete wall panels arrive on site. Many deliveries of large blue water pipes arrived this morning, and we see materials loaded into the ground, 2nd and 3rd floors in and amongst all the interior wall panels and wall studs that continue to be installed. On the west side, near the conduit and pipe “manifold” site, we see forms and rebar being laid down by crews ahead of a large concrete pour to create what I believe will be an external tank section. At the north electrical substation construction site, we see many projects underway simultaneously on the main graded area. The steel structure erected on the first concrete slab is most likely the control office, while many footings for poles continue construction on the west side of the graded area, some of which already have had concrete poured. Two large excavation areas appear ready for rebar installation. Thank you for watching and I hope this has been informative, educational, and entertaining for you.
