I get an Enhertu infusion every 3 weeks. This week I'm chatting about side effects, why I quit Mounjaro (which I'll restart again this month at the lowest dose now that I got the nausea under control), our new puppy, and some of the benefits honey can have for cancer patients. About Quitting Mounjaro: This wasn't mentioned much in my video, but I'd been on a therapeutic dose of Mounjaro before starting Enhertu. I didn't notice any drug interactions with my other cancer treatments before I started Enhertu infusions, when suddenly I was stricken with the worst nausea of my life. Extra IV fluids and Rx nausea meds helped a lot, but it was still more uncomfortable than I was willing to live with. After asking my prescribing GP doctor, who doesn't have any other patients on both Enhertu and Mounjaro, I took to Reddit for more clarity. The few people there who've had anecdotal experiences with cancer treatments and GLP-1 drugs together advised me to quit Mounjaro for a few months, then restart it at the lowest dose, working my way up to a therapeutic dose I can tolerate with Enhertu. I'll restart on Sunday this week. the good news is my blood sugar is nearly back to normal, but I'm still looking for those weight loss benefits since I don't get as much exercise as I used to.
