This is Steamworx, a Model Engineering channel. Building Dyak continued... Back to some machining and back to mistakes!! Building this model steam engine in 2 1/2 inch gauge, Dyak (an LBSC design) continues with making the connecting rods and crosshead pins. Another mistake made – totally my fault, I need to stop this its costing me time and materials! I use a jig to machine the connecting rods and a simple method of making sure both sides are machined to the same angle. The ends are rounded using my go to method and all is well in the end. The pins are straight forward turning jobs but a need for precision and finish is required. As always there is nothing to hide here, mistakes are made from time to time.
