Heh, this is so late, it's well into winter. It's not like much could've been done about it being the right season anyway, as this Design Challenge's microgames were released to the public in December. The microgames themselves have since been taken off the NinSoft Store, but it seems I had downloaded them already and kept them. So...here's Design Challenge #10, or the first half at least, preserved in video form for posterity. (And to an external hard drive. And perhaps to a data DVD.) 1. "Leaf Catcher" from Sergio - An odd dependency on buttons when clicking on the boy would also work, but the button is larger than the boy, making it easier to click. I didn't immediately figure out that you need to shake the tree, since the wind looks like it'd do that on its own. Nice showing the "Shake!" command. This game felt like it was tested on others first. 2. "Autumn Wind" from Ian - It's hard to get started, but once you do, it's pretty easy. Just press the button anywhere onscreen at the height of the stick man's jump, then press it aain when he's halfway through. 3. "Erase 'em!" from xMichiyo - Due to the airbrush giving the chalk texture, it can sometimes be difficult to click on the doodles. You never know when you're clicking on nothing. This is especially true for the cat face. 4. "SchoolSprint" from Upgrade - This is Artrocks93 from here at YouTube. I'm sure he's been waiting to see this microgame on YouTube for a while. Well, it's now up! 5. "Bus Stop" from Adam - The stop and go buttons actually operate the school bus. I initially thought you're supposed to get the kids to cross the street, since that's what's immediately visible. 6. "Football" from Sushumi - Weird pseudo-Japanese name. I keep reading that as "sashimi." If you're having trouble understanding it due to lack of familiarity with American football, you need to kick the ball between the goalposts once it's thrown to you. A reticule will go across the screen, and you need to kick it when it goes between the goalpost sticks. 7. "JackOLatern" (sic) from Fester - C'mon, at least spell the name of the microgame correctly! Everything else is great and easy to understand. 8. "Leaf Launch" from Phantom - The first time I played this, I was wondering if something was supposed to happen. I was going, "Where's the leaf pile?" 9. "Apple Dropn'" from Nathan*** - This one is unwinnable most of the time, since the apples are often positioned in such a way that the basket will not travel enough cycles. On top of that, if you don't get all 6 apples in, you lose. The speed the apples and basket move throw me off a lot too. 10. "Final exam" from Ekeko - Aren't final exams supposed to be in May and June? This is an American contest...then again, this entry may have come from South America, where May and June are autumn months. 11. "Mario's Late from Corson - Mario's house really sucks. It's got death traps all over it. Nice touch with Mario going to his seat on the bus though. 12. "Raking Rage" from EGGMAN 7 - So this is what Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik does when he's not assembling evil robots in hopes of defeating Sonic. 13. "Fall-ing" from Sakura - This one is a lot more fair than "Apple Dropn'," but sometimes, an apple will appear behind another, which is problematic if they appear on the left because they'll pass behind the bucket and make the game unwinnable. 14. "PaperMario64" from Rubin - This is based on the Chapter 6 boss battle, against Huff N. Puff. You're playing as Huff, if you thought you're Mario at first.
