It looked like a full on jungle — I could barely even see the house hiding at the back. The first thing that grabbed my attention was a massive date palm completely blocking the driveway. On top of that, tall brown grass and weeds had taken over the entire garden, creating a serious snake and fire hazard, especially with summer just around the corner here in Australia. I knocked on the front door, not really expecting anyone to be living here — but to my surprise, someone answered. The homeowner told me he’d lived here his entire life, but recently his health has taken a serious turn, making it impossible for him to keep up with the garden. I offered to help restore the yard to how it looked when he first moved in, but he kept saying no because he felt guilty. But after a little convincing, I finally got him to agree .
