Lake District Hiking Wainwrights – Aira Force, Gowbarrow, Little Mell Fell, Great Mell Fell On 9th March 2025, I set out on a fantastic hike in the Lake District, covering Aira Force, Gowbarrow Fell 1,579 ft (481 m), Little Mell Fell 1,657 ft (505 m), and Great Mell Fell 1,760 ft (536 m). Each location offered something unique, from cascading waterfalls to panoramic summit views. Aira Force, one of the most famous waterfalls in the Lake District with its 65-foot drop created a powerful roar, and the ancient woodland surrounding it added to the atmosphere From there, I climbed Gowbarrow Fell with stunning views over Ullswater.
