Today we will look at one of the most interesting theories I’ve come across as related to The Pyramids of Giza. Beyond that, this particular theory actually was held as a common belief, or a well-known myth surrounding The Pyramids until the rise of Napoleon and the discovery of the Rosetta Stone. What’s astonishing is that the origin of the legend appears to trace back to either the lost Library of Alexandria, or to one of the last Europeans to document the Pyramids before Napoleon, which occurred the whole back around the year 380 AD. Later Islamic Scholars also appeared to agree with parts of this theory, even upon further excavations, and it was only with Napoleon’s work in Egypt that this mind-bending theory was fully discredited. Today we will examine the oldest photographs of Egypt from the year 1850, which include photographs of The Pyramids, as well as some later images of The Pyramids dated to the years 1850 through 1890.
