This is, of course, the legendary Chrysler 340 cubic inch small block. Well known as a big block killer in its day, these engines propelled Demons, Dusters, and various other A-, B- and E-Bodies to greatness in the muscle car era. This particular engine was sold to ‪@Mclovingarage‬ by ‪@rocketresto‬ to be installed in the "Llama Barn" 1967 Plymouth Valiant. Although I got this engine fired up and sounding awesome in a previous Engine Wednesday video, my job today is to tear it down and figure out what sort of parts we're going to need to ensure that it can rip around autocross tracks with authority for years to come. Surprise surprise, this "good" engine isn't quite as good as we would've hoped. But the news isn't all bad. Let's dig in.
