RC semis are hard

It seems to me that there are two barriers to owning an RC semi trailer, or articulated lorry. The first of these is cost - if you go the Tamiya route, it's an expensive proposition. The second is less obvious; at least, it didn't occur to me until I had overcome the first barrier. Quite simply, these trucks are very difficult to manoeuvre. It's fine while all you need to do is drive forwards, but to truly experience one of these machines you'll need to master the technique of reversing with the trailer attached, and this is not an easy trick to learn. In this video I offer a brief glimpse into the complexities the dedicated driver will have to confront. This leads us to the apparently paradoxical statement that sometimes semis are hard.
