This hike took place in November 2020 in the area around the city of Ingelheim in Germany. First, it went up a mountain to an area with a stud farm and numerous horses. Then it went back down into the valley of Ingelheim and through the town back to the village and through vineyards to the village where we started in the morning. In this video, I go on a hike around Ingelheim am Rhein, a town in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany, well known for its long history, wine culture, and location on the Rhine River. Hiking here in November 2020 offered a unique atmosphere: the vineyards and hills around Ingelheim glowing with late autumn colours, the forests growing quiet as winter approached, and the town’s historic sites adding cultural depth to the walk. Ingelheim is often called the “Red Wine Town” because of its surrounding vineyards and wine tradition. It has been a winegrowing centre for centuries, and the slopes rising above the Rhine still define the landscape today.
