Getting lost twice on the Kumano Kodo (KK), Nakahechi route

Our 2nd day of Kumano Kodo was the most difficult. At first, we thought that it was just an easy walk but then we got lost for 30-45 minutes in the middle of the hike before we were able to return to the right path. Then it became uphill, then we got lost again for the 2nd time because of the wrong signage. Without realizing it, we were just walking in circles. So we decided to ignore the signage. We passed through a cemetery. It was a bit scary because we thought we could not get out of the mountain anymore and it was getting dark. Coming down of the mountain was again a struggle because it was so steep. Our host Miko-San who was going to pick us up at the foot of the mountain was already worried when we did not come out of the mountain on time. However, earlier, we had a wonderful time eating our lunch (prepared by our host). We then stopped at a restaurant owned by a French guy where had drinks and dessert. Despite getting lost twice we were happy we were able to complete our 2nd day with flying colors (by our own standards :) Music: Come along - Dan #filipinovlogger #japan #kumanokodo
