Due to a freight train derailment west of Usak at around 04:30 Saturday 11/10/14, the overnight services from Ankara and Konya to Izmir (Alsancak) were both terminated at Usak for road services forward. Shortly after 08:00 the line was reopened, so the stock of the two trains was shunted together, with both locos and 17 coaches setting off empty (ish) for Izmir. At Konaklar the vast train was held to cross DE24 391 working the 07:35 Alsancak to Usak, giving the unusual opportunity to see all three of the main TCDD passenger loco classes together at the same time. As soon as the DE24's train was clear of the loop points, the road was re-set and we departed.
