WHAT YOU'LL NEED Feast Watson Traditional Timber Oil https://www.feastwatson.com.au/produc... https://www.feastwatson.co.nz/product... Feast Watson Woodclean™ https://www.feastwatson.com.au/produc... https://www.feastwatson.co.nz/product... Decking applicator or brush Paint brush Flat blade stirrer Stiff bristle brush High pressure hose Bucket Cloth Waterproof gloves & protective eyewear PREPARATION Start by sweeping the surface clean and thoroughly wet down with water. Dilute in water by mixing 1 part Woodclean™ to 4 parts water – ensuring to stir the mixture thoroughly. Using a stiff bristle brush, scrub the surface vigorously. Allow the Woodclean™ solution to penetrate the surface for 20 minutes but don’t allow it to dry. If required, keep the timber wet with a light mist spray. After 20 minutes, rinse away with high-pressure water. Allow the timber to dry completely before applying your topcoat. APPLICATION Stir your Traditional Timber Oil thoroughly before and during use with a flat blade stirrer taking care not to introduce any bubbles. Using a brush, roller, spray or lambswool applicator, apply one flood coat working along 3 to 4 planks at a time in the direction of the grain. Use a brush to cut in around the edges and to seal the end grain. Allow the oil to penetrate into the timber for 30 to 60 minutes, then wipe away the excess with a dry applicator or cloth before the surface becomes tacky. Now that the application process is complete, allow 1 hour before applying a second coat. Begin your second coat, leaving the oil to penetrate for 30 to 60 minutes before wiping away the excess to ensure an even finish. After applying your final coat, let it dry for at least 18 hours before walking on it. Traditional Timber Oil is ideal oil for all exterior timber including decking, steps, fences, posts, gates, and beams. Available in your choice of Natural, Merbau, or Weathered Grey colours - it can also be tinted to richer Red Cedar or Walnut colours that really highlight the character of your timber species.
