#babyturtles #greenturtle #malaysia Cherating is a beachside resort town about 4 hours North of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. There's beaches (obviously) and even a Club Med. However, it's also known for a stretch of beach where green turtles come to lay their eggs. What's more, there's a turtle sanctuary that helps to incubate hundreds of thousands of eggs a year. What does this mean? It means that you can go and release baby turtles into the sea. Now there's lots of places that you can go to release baby sea turtles which we did. Don't get me wrong, it was cool. They didn't just give us a single baby turtle each, but instead a literal bucket full. However, there's less places where you can wait for the mother green turtles to come out of the sea at night to lay their eggs. I distinctly remember seeing this as a kid and whilst we were travelling up the East coast of Malaysia, it made sense to drop by.
