Pressure cook toor dal, chana dal, green moong dal, urad dal and masoor dal for 5-7 whistes or until the dal turns soft and mushy 2. In a kadai, add 1 tbsp of ghee, add 1 tsp jeera and ½ tsp hing, followed by 2 finely chopped green chillies, 1 tsp freshly made ginger garlic paste and saute this well 3. Add 1 finely chopped onion and saute this well until the onion turns pink and translucent 4. Add 1 finely chopped tomato to this and mix well again. Cover and cook this until the tomatoes become soft and mushy 5. Once the onions and tomatoes have cooked, add the boiled dal to this and adjust the consistency by adding water, for the quantity of dal I have taken, I had to add about 2 glasses of water here. 6. Add the dry spice powders starting with ½ tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder for that vibrant red colour followed by 2 tsps of dhaniya powder and salt as per taste. Now stir well again to combine the aromatics into the dal 7. Cover and cook this for 5-7 minutes until the dal comes to a boil 8. Garnish the dal with a generous amount of freshly chopped coriander leaves Baati 📌 Ingredients : Whole Wheat Flour - 1 cup Rava/ Sooji - 2 tbsp Baking soda - ¼ tsp Ghee - 1 tsp Salt- to taste 📌 Method : 1. In a bowl, take 1 cup of whole wheat flour, add 2 tbsps of rava or sooji to it followed by salt to taste, ¼ tsp baking soda and ghee. Mix it well to form a crumble and add water gradually and form a soft dough. 2. Now take small portions of the dough and roll them out into baatis as shown in the video and form x shaped cuts as shown in the video, this will help cook the baati well from inside out. 3. Now take an appe pan and add 1 drop of ghee in each of the cavity and place the baati. Cover and cook the baati on a medium flame by occasionally turning them on all sides to ensure even browning. It will take about 8-10 minutes for all the baati to cook completely. 4. Serve the baati with hot dal #rajasthanicuisine #dalbaati #marwadi #marwadifood #indianfoodie #indiancusine #traditionalfood #desifood #khana #restaurantstyle #authenticrecipe #dalbaatichurma #dalbaati #rajasthanifood #rajhasthani
