In this first episode of the series, I begin the long and arduous process of trying to beat the most challenging modpack Minecraft has to offer using nothing but my body and an infinite void of nothingness. Join me as I explore the novel mechanics behind spontaneous dirt generation, take tentative steps towards a mob farm, and die roughly 300 times along the way. GT - New Horizons is an intricately designed and custom-coded kitchen-sink style modpack built on the 1.7.10 version of Minecraft. It integrates hundreds of Minecraft's flagship mods into a Gregtech framework - completely overhauling the mods' traditional progression in the process, and radically rebalances any of the technologies those mods may offer. This pack is available on both the CurseForge and Technic launchers. You can also source it directly from the development GitHub. GitHub : https://github.com/GTNewHorizons/ Because this modpack was 'too easy', I have chosen to remove every default block, item, and entity in every world I visit, all while trying to play the game as 'vanilla' as possible. Treat all dimensions as void worlds. Anything generated/built after the fact (like mobs) is fair game. No cheating. Duh. 'Exploiting' poorly thought out game mechanics that work as intended is not cheating, it is engineering. Creative mode, editing programs, game commands, and everything like that is fine to fix bugs - I do this a couple of times in this episode - I just can't progress the game state with it. No backups or save-scumming to game out RNG mechanics or fix my mistakes. I have to live with the consequences of my actions.
