St George MCC - Come try racing Race 3 16/11/24 📸 @phelixrides Second time doing the come try racing with St George MCC. I felt a massive improvement since the last event as I didn’t fatigue mid race and the bike performed flawlessly. Stupid mistake on the last lap which cause the front end to wash out. As soon as I got my elbow down on turn two I heard a scrape (I believe to be the crash knob), and then suddenly the front tucked. But ultimately adding more lean while on throttle was silly and a dumb/costly mistake! Will be removing the crash knobs now. Overall it was an awesome night, clutched survived this time but will need to work on my launches. Best time was in race 2 on the last lap, 1:46.3 with an optimal of 1:45 and an average of 1:47 race pace. Naturally there is more in it and my next goal is to average a 45 race pace. First time on slicks and using a 190/60! Such an amazing setup, I feel so much more confident trail braking and leaning the bike over. I was using a used tear off 190/60 so the rear started to slide more on race 2 and 3. Having issues scraping my boots on turn 3 and 8 so will need to adjust the pegs.
