A homeless veteran living out of his car finds a wallet in a diner parking lot containing $2,400 in cash, credit cards, and a military contractor badge. Despite his own desperation, he turns it in to the diner. The wallet's owner — a retired Special Forces Colonel now working as a defense contractor — tracks him down. When they meet, the Colonel notices the veteran's faded Airborne tattoo and a unit patch sewn onto his jacket. He recognizes it as a unit he once served alongside in Panama. The Colonel doesn't just give a reward — he leverages his defense industry connections to get the veteran a job, an apartment, and VA benefits he never knew he was entitled to. The story reveals how many veterans are one connection away from rebuilding their lives.
