In possibly the most anticipated video in the history of North Country Trains, we're journeying up the Quebec, North Shore & Labrador Railway aboard the Tshiuetin Rail Transportation's passenger train. Starting in Sept-Iles, QC, our 357-mile ride takes us along the Moisie River, past endless ore trains, and through some of Quebec and Labrador's most remote and scenic locations. At Emeril, Newfoundland and Labrador, we enter the Tshiuetin's Menihek Subdivision for the final 132 miles north to Schefferville, an extremely remote Innu indigenous community in far northern Quebec. This passenger train is one of the most unique in the world. Fighting its way around an endless parade of ore trains and work trains, the route of the Tshiuetin is busy but extremely remote and rugged. Built in 1950-1954, the route is modern and advanced compared to most in North America. Tshiuetin is operated by three First Nations in the Schefferville area, specifically the Innu and Naskapis peoples. Locations: Sept-Iles, QC Seahorse, QC Mai, QC Oreway, NL Ross Bay, NL Emeril, NL Esker, NL Knobb Lake, NL Schefferville, QC Featuring Harrison Smith (NCT) and Adam Rudnick (NiagaraNscaler).
