Card Swipe Technique : Abstract Landscape Demo

In this quick and beginner friendly watercolor painting, we are going to use the card swipe method. A "card swipe" refers to a technique where you apply paint to a plastic card (an old store card is great) and then swipe it across the paper to create unique textures and effects. This method allows for both controlled marks and flowing, abstract patterns, making it a versatile tool for expressive painting. You need to use a fair amount of water on the paper first to get the paint moving and can come back in and tidy up where you feel you want to. I also dried the painting off, glazed colour back in as well as lifting some paint out so it is a versatile technique to use for a semi abstract landscape. Materials Used: Prussian Blue, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna are the main colors. I used my trusty Rigger Brush and my Holbein Hake. Let me know in the comments how you got on.
