The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked, or AP Openworked for short, is truly an amazing skeletonized watch! The first generation of the Audemars Piguet Openworked came in 39mm. Even though I liked the 39-millimeter model, I always felt that it was a bit too small. That's why, when AP released the 41-mm version of their Openworked, I jumped for joy! That is the model that I am reviewing on this video. This Royal Oak Openworked shot the 39mm Skeleton dead as far as I'm concerned! The “double balanced” in the watch's official name refers to the dual escapement in the Reference 15407 model. The Openworked comes in rose gold (reference 15407OR.OO.1220OR.01) with a retail price of $76,800 and stainless steel (reference 15407ST.OO.1220ST.01) with a price of $44,100. Due to its limited availability, the watch is not easy to find and that's why it typically fetches a price that is over retail in the market. Some people think that this watch is a tourbillon, but the reality is that you will not find an AP tourbillon for $80k – not possible! Nevertheless, the 41mm Audemars Piguet Openworked, with its golden bridge holding the escapement wheels is still a heavy hitting piece in the Watch Game!
