Welcome to your Somatic Yoga for Beginners - Gentle Neck & Shoulders Release practice. In this soothing session, we’ll focus easing stress and creating space in your upper body. Class Highlights: 1. Begin by slowing down the breath and setting an intention: “I welcome release.” 2. Start with Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) focused on the face and shoulders. 3. Move into gentle neck and shoulder mobility exercise. 4. Stretch the ulnar nerve to relieve nerve compression and tension from the neck down to the hands. 5. Practice a Somatic spinal twist to release tightness and pain in the back, neck, and abdominals. 6. End the class by returning to your intention and enjoying the sense of relaxation and ease in both mind and body. Make sure you have plenty of space and are on comfortable ground.
